Our Story

A thoughtful Gir cattle breeder, building better milk-producing generations.

Maruti Namdev Palode (मारुती नामदेव पालोदे)

I am Maruti Namdev Palode. I began working with cattle in 2014, starting with nine cows and one bull. Before that, I had taken on a contract that left money tied up. I turned to caring for cows as a way to manage the stress of that period. What began as a personal reset became a long-term commitment to indigenous cattle.

These are interview-era figures, not a current count. I also described around 55 litres at one milking session, give or take two to four litres; this is not a daily-production figure. We do not sell animals online. Every purchase begins with a conversation, a look at the health records and — wherever possible — a visit to the farm. Transport is arranged only after a veterinary fitness certificate.

The breeding approach

Better generations begin with considered choices.

The farm reports selecting bulls to complement individual cows, with attention to milk-production potential, udder structure, teat placement, body form and recorded pedigree.

The farm describes an approximately 12–14 month calving interval and a 60–90 day post-calving pregnancy target during the period discussed. These are historical descriptions and targets, not guarantees.
